Blue Angel

The scene I chose from the movie when the professor was scolding the student in his office. When the two young guys stooped at the classroom doors, waited till everyone was exiting the class and then trip the young boy and he fell and all the pictures fell out of him books. I found this scene very interesting; it kind of foretold the events to come in the movie. From my perspective, I wish that the professor, had someone in his life to keep him on track when he was slipping; just like when his student fell he assisted him and took him in his office to get information as he speak with him.

In life it’s very good when we can have someone in our life to help along our journey, it may not be our immediate family, but I can be a stranger just to say your better than that, or you can do it. Despite how intellectual professor maybe if he had that one individual he would have made a better decision.

   1. I would compare Rath and Lola similar to Siddhartha and Kamala in the sense of the negative effect that both women had on the men. When Rath got with Lola he changes from a decent professor to a clown; Siddhartha got with Kamala he also suddenly change and began to take up bad habits such as drinking and gambling. Both men in a way lost their state of identity after meeting these women and started doing foolish things.

2. I would say that Lola is totally impassive; she doesn’t show no emotions whatsoever not even to the professor.

3. The significance of the clown is “change” he went from a decent professor to a clown, someone who lost his spirit.

4. Chaos is thematically represented in the film as professor life and the different changes he has gone through, from someone to no one. It seems as if he would commit murder after he saw his dearly beloved in another man arms, that later cause him to want to end his life.

5. The overall meaning I get from this film deception, lust, lost of identity etc. The professor saw something which was (Lola) that glitters like gold, but really it wasn’t gold it was something that appeared to be gold an illusion. He was captivated by the outward appearance of Lola which was beautiful, and didn’t realize he was going down the road of self- destruction; that she had another side of her, and all that she was presenting was just a façade.

6. I compared Rath to the Haussmann painting/montage because Rath it appears that someone not being able to share the pleasures in the world because of their intellectual lifestyle and he’s finally getting a taste of it he doesn’t know how to handle the pressure. And according to Prof. M he has total inner weakness and also incapable of enjoying and appreciating the pleasures of the world. I would say you could as well compare Siddhartha and the professor again. They both had a discipline and a more conservative lifestyle which shelters them from certain exposure, so when they are exposed to a different lifestyle they don’t know how to keep a balance, that they both had death in mind as a way of escape.
