In late 1929 the Great Depression
hit worldwide as a result of the crash of the stock market in America and
resulting mass bank failures. Germany was particularly affected because its
economy had become deeply linked to the U.S. economy. Unemployment goes from
about 1.5 million workers in 1929 to 4 million workers in 1930. The Nazi’s
capitalized on the severe economic disaster. By 1930 they had become the second
largest party in the Reichstag after the Social Democratic Party (SPD), it now
became impossible to form a majority in parliament without them. Street fights
between Nazi and Communist forces intensify. The centrist government under
Chancellor Heinrich BrĂ¼ning, invokes article 48 of the Constitution and
declares a state of emergency in order to keep the government functioning
because the Nazis are completely uncompromising and will not work with more moderate parties.
According to the passage, due The Great Depression, it affect the economy really bad, leading to the crashing of the the stock markets, banks failed and the people lost their savings, their were many people jobless. Due to this Depression, this led to complete chaos in germany as well, violence break out calling for state of emergency and also leading to the Nazis rebelling because they too were deeply affected, so they decide they going to work things out their own way.
I chose this quote because it was so sad that so many people lost their job in the The Great Depression and how the bank took all the people money, everyone lost their savings. I think that in life people should always have several plans just in case one may fall in the cracks, they will have another to fall on. I say this because at times in one's life situation occurs and they was never prepared, and that whole situation can completely sweep them off their feet because they never had a plan or stragety. In the Great Depression worldwide their was no second plan, and everything collasped. Just like couple years ago when we had the recession, it hit the economic so bad, they raised prices everything, they even started going into people's 401k saving, and many people lost so much money just like what took place in the great depression.
1. The major reasons that led to the rise Nazi's was the Great Depression which caused severe economic disaster and unemployment.
2. the Nazi resolved conflicts
between the workers and owners by controlling the prices and wages of products as well by destroying independent union. Also, they act like a non-communist alternative for the working class.
3. The signifance is that (work makes one free) it was a lie to the jews, that if they work hard they would be free.
4.State capitalism basically have dominion over all the finances, credit, and having prices for raw materials and wages.
5. I would evaluate the Anti-Semitism to be very cruel and wicked. They only targeted the Jewish people, who i believe thought they were some sort of threat to them. Due the Anti-Semitism the Jewish lost everything they had asset and business and also denied their civil rights.
I agree with you. Its hard breaking to see all your hard work money disapper in an instant. I do believe that a plan B should always be an alternative just in case another great depreciation decides to show. But I sure hope it doesn't have to happen to us in this life time.
