“All the words are other people’s inventions. I want my own stuff, my own rhythm, and vowels and consonants too, matching the rhythm and all my own”.

I believe the quote is saying that, this person wants to be very different and unique.  They want to perceive things different from how other people already have it. I believe this author is saying he wants to be an inventor of his own words, create something no one else have never had or spoken of before; so people can be in awe. It appears that this individual is possible tired of hearing the same words over and  over, and just want a step out of the box and create new word choice.

I chose this quote because; I found it to be a very interesting quote just to read how the author wants to create his own words. However, from my point of view I would say I’m neutral because there’s no problem in wanting to invent your own words. I believe that the author can invent his words; but he would have to travel the world and see if that word is already taken. Furthermore, a person can use a word that is already created and turn into their own invention by adding a little rhythm and matching.

This quote made me think of “Me”  my strength is that, as long as I have goal and determination I don’t have to be like nobody else, all I have to do is to be myself and do my own thing which will bring out the uniqueness in me and stand out.

Reading this quote I don’t think it related to anything going on in this present time; I just believe that everyone one is  just focusing and trying to find a better way of living due to the recession. 

                                                John Heartfield

            John Heartfield, was born Helmut Herzfelde in Berlin in 1891. He was a German artist. Sadly, at the tender age of seven he lost both parents. However, served an apprenticeship as a bookseller in Wiesbaden before going to Munich to study at the "Kunstgewerbeschule" from 1908 to 1911. Later on, In 1917 John Heartfield became a follower of the Dada movement in Berlin and that same year he joined the German Communist Party. John designs, he has a lot different illustrations and graphics. He did a lot of political photomontage, and designs stage an book covers like penguins which was one of my favor selection I usually read when I was in elementary school growing up. John is a very interesting person and I like few of his work such as

Der Sinn Des Hitlergrusses (1932), Madrid 1936, and Deutiche Eicheln 1933. These three pictures all have the same colors in common which is black and white with some lights, which make the pictures to stand out. These pictures are also very direct and straight forward. They all show the point the author was trying to portray about political ideas, and the propaganda. These pictures bring out the hidden things that are going on in, so the author just create these graphics so people can see what is taking place.

Der Sinn Des Hitlergrusses (1932), this picture show Hitler and a worker appears to be monopoly and a dictator. The picture looks like he’s giving away money to his worker to possible to carry out his duty and to make sure the work is accomplished.  Hitler looks like a ruler; the picture shows that he alone has all the power and authority. In the picture he is the biggest person almost covering the entire picture and the worker is the smallest one. The picture is in black and white; however it has good lights, were you are able to see a little shadow. This picture is well put together; it does not look like a collage. Looking at the picture you are able to get a direct meaning and understanding of what was going on in the picture.

    (Madrid 1936) This picture shows victory, dominance, strength, conqueror, and power. The picture appears to have a two- fold meaning. One way in which that the Nazi’s is the most powerful people in Germany. They look at themselves to be like a god (who is omnipresent) having two enomourous vultures to represent them. The vultures are like survillance camera that is always on watch, they probably would fly through the sky and do patrol to make sure everything is going well. The second meaning I got is that, it shows that there were probably a war and the Nazi’s won the war and they are victorious.  In order for them to show their triumph, they have to display two big and strong vulture that they identified themselves with, and saying they will devour anyone or anything that tries to cross them.   The man in the picture appears to be nurturing an acorn tree, but the fruit is not a corn its hats of soldiers and fat bullets or missile caps. This show that they are a lot of Nazi seeds that are planted and they are being germinated. When the tree comes to full blossoming all is going to come up its just soldiers for war and their leaves are spreading rapidly. I really like this picture there is a lot of lights and it make the soldiers hats look three dimensions.
